Céline Dion, de son côté, n’est pas convaincue et enregistre une démo après l’insistance de son mari et manager René Angélil. La prise réalisée ce jour-là est si forte qu’une grande partie de la voix définitive provient de cette première interprétation. Cameron accepte finalement le morceau, qui devient indissociable du film et l’un des plus grands succès de Dion. Une chanson que ni la chanteuse ni le réalisateur ne réclamaient vraiment devient le cœur émotionnel du projet.

Céline Dion was also unconvinced and recorded a demo only after encouragement from her husband and manager, René Angélil. The performance was so strong that much of the final vocal came from that first take. Cameron eventually accepted the song, which became inseparable from the film and one of Dion’s greatest hits. A recording that neither the singer nor the director had initially requested became the project’s emotional center.
